Abstract: Fourteen small- to medium-size Ohio towns were visited to determine their street tree policies and programs. Their street trees were assessed for kinds of trees, size, density, and general condition. Towns with long-term, wellfounded programs had superior street trees as evidenced by more kinds of trees in better condition, a more consistent and greater density, a more balanced distribution of sizes.
